Alex is an Emmy award winning filmmaker, who is currently gearing up to direct her next feature length documentary starring Chelsea Handler for Netflix. Earlier this year, she wrapped a three part docu-series about the cultural impact the NBA has had in America over the past four decades for Showtime. As the series showrunner, she had the amazing opportunity to produce the project alongside NBA legend, LeBron James. Stapleton made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film, Corman's World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel (A&E), a feature-length documentary about Roger Corman which stars Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese and Ron Howard. The film competed at top festivals like Cannes, New York Film Festival and Sundance. Alex’s documentary style easily translated to the world of reality and docu-series television producing hit shows like The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey (CBS), Storage Wars (A&E) and Big Fish Texas (Nat Geo). Stapleton also directed, produced and was a correspondent on a series about progress and advances in developing countries called TakePart World (Participant Media), which was funded by the Gates Foundation. For this work she was nominated for a Webby Award and a Social Media Impact Award. In addition, she has directed award winning web campaigns for The Olympics, Rolex, Chime for Change, Elle.com, Glamour, Popular Mechanics and Cosmo.com. Alex recently received an Emmy for her work as a correspondent/producer on Socal Connected (PBS).
